Did I tell you guys what we were SUPPOSE to do for Labor Day weekend??
Just a little trip to Florida.
Yeah. We booked out tickets MONTHS ago. My friend wanted to travel for her daughters birthdays and I was totally game! Not that I need a reason to travel, but if we’re going to have a reason then, LET’S GO!
So we made our plans, reserved our hotel, got our tickets for the places we wanted to go and book reservations for Captain Memo’s Pirate Cruise. Beach day was set and we were soooo excited!
So excited that I never even thought to look at the weather. like at all.
not even the news.
Now I knew it was going to rain, I did look several days in advance, but that was it.
Then I went to work the day we were going to leave, let a few co-workers know that I will be leaving early to catch my flight.
Like all, “Yeah, I’m out this piece! I gone! Don’t call me because I’m not going to answer”
I didn’t say that…. but that was my attitude.
Then one of my co-workers ask where I am going.
“Clearwater/Tampa area” I respond.
Then my other co-workers gives me this weird look. Like, why?
I assume he thinks it is not a nice area, so I immediately go on the defense.
“It’s a nice area! One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve been to”
He responds, “Yeah, if it’s not under water!”
Me, “I know it’s going to rain a little but I am not about to let that stop me. We will still have a good time!”
My co-worker, “Do you watch the news?”
“Uhhh, no. I’ve been busy. I actually packed in a timely manner this time”
So he proceeds to tell me that a hurricane is going to hit Florida, if it already hasn’t.
Needless to say. We didn’t go to Florida.
Luckily since there was an advisory, Spirit allowed us to change the date for no extra charge. Everything else allowed us to change as well. So now I have two trips back-to-back.
Tampa/Clearwater one weekend and New Orleans the next.
To say that Fall is going to be busy for us is an understatement.
Between creating our costumes, preparing for 5k’s, and all the Fall fun that we typically have, we are going to need all November to rest!
Well, but by the time November rolls around we will have to prepare the holiday season.
Okay, maybe we’ll rest in January and February.
Or maybe we’ll travel somewhere.
